Celebrate the longest day of the year at the Irish American Heritage Museum’s Solstice Festival! This two-night festival features some of Ireland’s finest musicians. Attend the Wednesday night concert and hear fiddler player Brendan Mulvihill, banjo player Angelina Carberry, and button accordion player Dan Brouder play together for the first time in the states! Then on Thursday night check out Canadian-based, Irish folk singer-songwriter Michael Darcy and his new band The Atlantic Tramps. Enjoy these two nights of live Irish music from traditional to folk as you ring in the official start of the Summer.

Immerse yourself in a weekend of music and performance at the Old Songs Music Festival. This family-friendly festival features folk, traditional, world, and Celtic music and dance performances each night. There are also craft vendors, a children’s activity area, and over 100 workshops happening each day. Enjoy everything from jam sessions, to instrumental lessons, to family dances during this staple Albany music festival.

Jazz up your weekend at this early September festival and enjoy world-class music along the river. The annual Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival features everything from jazz greats, to critically acclaimed up-and-coming-artists to local favorites. Make sure you stick around for a beautiful fireworks show at the end of the night. Park at the Riverfront Garage for an $8 flat-rate fee and easy access to Jennings Landing across the Maiden Lane pedestrian bridge. The best part? The whole event is completely free!

You can’t miss Downtown Albany’s biggest all-day music festival! Head down to North Pearl Street and enjoy a lineup of locally and internationally recognized performers. Enjoy food from a series of Albany vendors. Make sure to find your zen and get a good stretch (before you dance the night away) with the hour-long, instructor led Yogapalooza at the top of the festival. This family friendly event is a completely free way to welcome the start of Fall on a high note.
