    USS Slater is a World War II destroyer escort restored to its 1945 configuration. Of 563 built during World War II, the SLATER is the only destroyer escort left afloat in the United States. After serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters, the ship was decommissioned and then, in 1951, given to Greece where she served the Hellenic Navy for 40 years. USS Slater is a National Historic Landmark.
