Overview
In 1859 the world's largest stone barn was constructed by one of America's most progressive Utopian societies, the American Shakers, and is still standing for public viewing at the Historic Mount Lebanon Shaker Village in New Lebanon, New York. The Shakers were entrepreneurs, equal rights activists, craftspeople, musicians, dancers, pacifists, land stewards, and so much more. Come tour the historic Shaker Village and engage with our active community to preserve this inclusive, innovative Shaker legacy.
