Celebrate your independence in a city that contributed so much to the formation of our country!

After an afternoon of picnics, barbeques, and lawn games in one of Albany's many great parks head down to the Empire State Plaza to enjoy more food, crafts, and entertainment at 2:00 pm.

As the sun goes down, the excitement ramps up as the first of many fireworks light up the sky above Albany. Over 30,000 people migrate to the plaza for the excellent pyrotechnic display that typically lasts about an hour. The striking architecture of the Plaza, mixed with patriotic music, and a brilliant fireworks show all combine to create the ultimate Independence Day experience!

If crowds aren't your thing, there are also plenty of great viewing spots from just outside the city, as well.
