The Tri-City ValleyCats are a Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros. A member of the 14 team New-York Penn League, their rivals include affiliates from the Mets, Yankees and Red Sox organizations. Located on Hudson Valley Community College’s campus, Joseph L. Bruno Stadium is a 4,500 fixed-seat stadium that opened its doors in June 2002. About a five minute drive from the State Capital, the facility includes 10 luxury suites, a spacious picnic area, and a grass seating berm. “The Joe" has an open air concourse designed to give every seat a great view of the field and an intimate ballpark feel. All seats at The Joe are extra wide with seat backs, containing extra leg room and cup holders in premium and reserved box sections. This state-of-the-art ballpark also includes a major-league quality video/scoreboard.The ValleyCats are known in the Capital Region community as a low cost family entertainment destination. Each night is a unique event, with entertainment acts, heritage nights and fireworks shows providing the perfect environment to enjoy a summer night.Attendance reached an all-time high last season, as the ValleyCats drew 134,627 (including playoffs). The ValleyCats averaged 3,490 fans per game, which is 77.56 percent-to-capacity at “The Joe”. Since the team’s inception in 2002, attendance has shown an increase in five out of six seasons; all of which have drawn at least 100,000 per season.
The ValleyCats play 38 home games in 2007. Game times are 7:00 pm Monday through Saturday and 5:00 pm on Sunday. Gates open one hour prior to the game.
