    The City of Albany Office of Special Events & Cultural Affairs plans, produces, staffs, markets, and manages all aspects of a variety of annual free events and co-sponsors a wide array of other festivals throughout the year. This office researches and hires talent, programs children's activities, coordinates food and craft vendors, coordinates technical and logistical aspects, markets and publicizes events, solicits sponsorship, and solicits, trains and manages a large group of event volunteers. This office is often called upon to execute special events, ceremonial programs, press conferences and other event activities occurring in the City of Albany. The major events produced include the Tulip Festival in May, the Alive At Five Summer Concert Series, Albany Dad Fest, the City of Albany Jazz Festival, the September in the City Art Fair, and the Last Run 5K.
