  • Overview

The Adirondack Park encompasses nearly 6 million acres of constitutionally protected "forever wild" forest preserves and more than 10,000 lakes, 30,000 miles of rivers and streams, and a wide spread of habitats including wetlands and old-growth forests. A spread of hiking options for all skill levels are available and range from the Cascade Mountain (4.8 miles), the perfect option for first timers who want an early start to their morning, to the more rigorous ascent of Mount Skylight (17.2 mile minimum), nearby the Four Corners intersection, Mount Marcy, and Lake Tear of the Clouds.
