  • Overview

In honor of Haitian Heritage month, YWCA of the Greater Capital Region and Nacy Warner Associates present Simone.

Written and performed by D. Colin, Simone is a hybrid of poetry and theater and tells the story of a Haitian immigrant woman who survived the earthquake that ravaged Haiti in 2010. After living in the United States for almost nine years under temporary protected status (TPS), she faces deportation as uncertainty grows around the continuation of TPS.

This event is the second offering from YWCA-GCR's 2020 Mission Series and proceeds will support YWCA-GCR's continued essential programs and artist, D. Colin.
