Our popular traditional Rambling House returns to the Museum. All are invited to attend this informal "seisuin" led by Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann. Bring your instrument - or be ready to sing or recite a poem - and join in, or just sit back and enjoy some of the Capital Region's finest traditional musicians in an informal session. Visiting a Rambling House (ag bothantiocht) was a traditional past-time, especially in rural Ireland, when families had to make their own entertainment. Groups of neighbors would come together and play cards, or dance, or tell stories and sing songs. It is a great form of entertainment, and a traditional way to see Irish culture. It still happens in Ireland - although maybe now in pubs more than homes!
