The Albany Distilling Company, The Albany Ale Project, and Discover Albany will team with Albany County Historical Association to present "Proost! A Brewed and Boozy sampling of 1790's Albany." Beer and spirits have long been a part of Albany’s heritage and the most popular libations in the era of Abraham Ten Broeck were strong ale and rum! Join distiller Johnny Curtain, beer historian Craig Gravina, and brewer Scott Veltman as they take you back to the 1790s and with boozy samplings inspired by what early Americans in Albany drank, learn how they were made, and how alcohol affected and influenced the city’s culture and history. The event will be moderated by TU reporter and food blogger Deanna Fox. (Attendees who wish to sample must be 21+ and present a valid photo ID.) Space is limited; reservationds required.
