    Edwidge Danticat, one of most acclaimed writers of her generation, has enriched and enlarged American literature with her novels and short stories about Haiti and the Haitian-American experience. Her newest book is We’re Alone (Sept. 2024), an essay collection that explores her profound and enduring connection to Haiti, as well as a deep concern for her beloved island.


    Danticat’s first book, Breath, Eyes, Memory (1994), became an Oprah Book Club selection. Other bestsellers include Krik? Krak! (1996), The Farming of Bones (1998), The Dew Breaker (2004) and Claire of the Sea Light (2013).
