Ed Yong is the author of the international bestseller, I Contain Multitudes: The Microbes Within Us and a Grander View of Life (2017). Beautifully written and often funny, the book sheds new light on the microbes that shape us, defend us, partner with us, and call us home.
Bill Gates said, “Yong synthesizes literally hundreds and hundreds of papers, but he never overwhelms you with the science. He just keeps imparting one surprising, fascinating insight after the next… [this is] science journalism at its best.”
A science writer for The Atlantic, Yong’s writing has appeared in National Geographic, The New Yorker and Scientific American. His TED talk about mind-controlling parasites has been watched by over 1.75 million people.
Cosponsored by the "RNA Café” of UAlbany’s RNA Institute and the University Libraries.
