  • Overview

    Suitable for adults

The Albany Pine Bush Preserve is home to many interesting Odonates (dragonflies and damselflies). Join us for an afternoon of dragon hunting as we search some of the wetlands in the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. We will meet at the Discovery Center for a briefing. Then, depending on the weather and the state of our wetlands, we will caravan over to another location or walk to a site behind the Discovery Center. Participants are responsible for providing their own transportation. We will be spending time off-trail. Hiking off-trail may increase your exposure to ticks. It is recommended that all visitors to the Albany Pine Bush Preserve wear pants with long socks that can be pulled up over their pant legs and shirts that are tucked into the waistband. Dress in footwear and clothing you don't mind getting wet and dirty.

Reservations are required for all public programs.

Fee: Free! Reservations required for all attendees (regardless of age). Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Make reservations by calling 518-456-0655 or visit www.AlbanyPineBush.org/events

Please plan to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the start of the program to check in.

Groups with 8 or more people, please call us for special accommodations.

Note: Programs begin promptly at times listed. If you make a reservation for a program and then decide you will not be able to attend please call us or cancel your reservation online to open up those spaces to others.

While leashed pets are permitted on marked trails, we ask that visitors not bring pets to our educational programs.
