Experience an adult adventure in archaeology! Participate in a week-long dig at The Dr. Thomas Elkins property which is part of The Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence Campus located in Albany, New York. Managed by Underground Railroad Education Center, The Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence is an award-winning, National Register listed, documented Underground Railroad site that is the voice of Black Abolitionists and Freedom Seekers. The Dr. Thomas Elkins property is owned by Underground Railroad Education Center and was home to Dr. Thomas Elkins, who was a Vigilance Committee member and medical examiner for the 54th Massachusetts Regiment (Autobiography of William Henry Johnson).
Join with others in unearthing history through archaeology. Field trips and conversations with professional archaeologists will be included in the experience. Lunch and snacks will be provided daily. Breakfast, dinner and accommodations will be the responsibility of participants. Accommodation arrangements for the group are being investigated.

Participants will need to carry proof of vaccination against COVID and proof of health insurance.
