A Sky That Sings is a picture book about a different way to experience nature. Mia is spending a sunny afternoon at the park bird-listening! Some people enjoy bird-watching, but as a blind person, Mia uses her other senses to identify different birds by their unique calls and songs. She calls it bird-listening. After a reading of the book, we’ll listen to some recorded bird conversations and try to figure out what the birds are saying—and learn to identify some common birdcalls.
This program is free to the public but there is a reccomended donation of $10/person. Space is limited. The program will take place inside the visitor center at the Pine Hollow Arboretum and is suitable for all ages.
