The R Gallery at Arlene’s is thrilled to announce People and Places, a solo exhibition featuring work by Ottavia Huang done during her time as an artist-in-residence at Arlene’s. Using her signature style this exhibition features a selection of whimsical watercolors and drawings that highlight moments from her travels and everyday life.
“I use watercolor and pen as a medium as it gives me the flexibility and accessibility to paint on the go using light, transparent colors to represent a sense of calm and peace,” says artist-in-residence, Ottavia Huang. She goes on to say, “These sketches are mementos from my travels and my journey in exploring the Capital Region as my new home. With these drawings, I want to capture the experience with and the connections to a place and the minute details of everyday things that would often go unnoticed. I hope when people view my art, that same feeling of serenity will reach them as well.”
Join us on November 3rd from 4:30- 5:30 pm for the Artist Reception. The exhibition will run through December 1st. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. We will be closed on Thanksgiving, November 23, 2023.
