The Palace Theater

The Palace Theater is an arts and entertainment destination where comedians, musicians, and a variety of performers take the stage. In November, laugh until you cry with Amy Schumer or be amazed by the magnificent Moscows Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker. On December 2, celebrate the holiday season with the Albany Symphony Orchestra for the Magic of Christmas, a Capital Region classic. In January, Sleeping Beauty comes to life on the stage with a full-scale production of the fairy tale.

You won't want to miss two upcoming productions at the Capital Repertory Theatre in downtown Albany. Get in the holiday spirit with "Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley" from November 23 - December 23. This charmingly imagined sequel to Jane Austen's famous novel Pride and Prejudice depicts the classic characters returning to the elegant home of Mr. and Mrs. Darcy to celebrate Christmas. Catch "Red Maple" , a comedy set in the suburbs of Albany, written by Capital Region veteran actor-writer, David Bunce. The comedy is running from January 25 - February 12.

The Egg Performing Arts Center

The Egg is more than just a unique feature on Albany's skyline, it is one of the region's top performance venues. October and November features comedians Randy Rainbow and Jo Koy, or if you are a music lover jam out to Music of Cream 50th Anniversary Tour or Alan Doyle. Plan to bring your little ones to the Egg in January for family-friendly fun with American Girl Live or The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Favorites. 

 

Park Playhouse

Park Playhouse

Park Playhouse now offers a year-round slate of productions and has moved indoors to the historic Cohoes Music Hall for the winter. Rock and roll fans will enjoy Million Dollar Quartet, playing from November 1 - 11. Based on the true story of an impromptu jam session of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash, this musical tale will have your toes tapping.  Young theater fans and parents will love You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown based on the beloved comic strip by Charles Schultz. Join Charlie Brown, Sally Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder and Snoopy for this charming musical production playing from February 7 - 17, 2019.

Troy Savings Bank Music Hall is a National Historic Landmark that is a must-visit performance venue with superb acoustics! November has a full slate of performances including Matisyahu, The Wood Brothers, Brett Dennan, The Ballroom Thieves, Art Garfunkel and Kaia Kater. Embrace a Capital Region holiday tradition with The Many Moods of Christmas Around The World or enjoy holiday tunes with Cherish the Ladies: A Celtic Christmas in December. You also have two chances to catch the Albany Symphony Orchestra at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall with Viennese Classics in December and Beethoven's Seventh in January.

Times Union Center

The newly renovated Times Union Center has a full schedule of superstar musicians and family-friendly shows over the next couple months. October features pop star sensation Justin Timberlake and heavy metal legends, Metallica. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Arenacross and truTV Impractical Jokers are scheduled for November. In December, the whole family will enjoy Disney On Ice Celebrates 100 Years of Magic. Or, if you are fans of Panic at the Disco, the band will be performing at the venue in January.
