It's another week of eeks and treats in Albany County! As the All-Hallow E'en Festival continues, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the season, explore Albany's scariest sites, and ways for even the tiniest of Halloween fans to get in the spirit. Inspired by the original 1904 & 1905 All-Hallow E’en Festival where local businesses showcased festive window displays, Albany Center Gallery has teamed up with local artists and businesses to create a stunning array of fall-inspired window art and outdoor murals. Explore this vibrant art path along North Pearl Street!

Special Screening: Folklore & Frost
October 14 | 12 PM | New York State Museum - Huxley Theatre

Join the New York State Museum every Tuesday in October for Folklore & Frost, a local documentary series exploring the rich history and mysterious tales of Northern New York. Each episode highlights historic sites where unexplained occurrences and ghostly legends are part of everyday life. From haunted inns and old courthouses to mysterious apparitions and strange happenings, these stories bring the past—and the paranormal—to life.

Murder at Cherry Hill
October 15 - October 18 | Various Times | Historic Cherry Hill

Follow the footsteps of an infamous murderer whose harrowing story took place at Cherry Hill in 1827. This murder resulted in two sensational trials and Albany's final public hanging. Relive that night during one of Cherry Hill's popular October tours.

City Séance Ghost Tours

Who are the famous spirits that linger around in the capital city? Will you be able to conjure these spirits as you journey through downtown Albany? Find out during this theatrical tour presented by Discover Albany and Capital Repertory Theatre!

Manifestations: A Shaker Ghost Tour

This dog trick-or-treat event is fun for the whole family! Litters of dressed-up dogs will roam the streets of downtown Albany sniffing out treats at a multitude of participating businesses. Dog costumes are a must, but human pals are encouraged to dress up too! 

Spooky Fireside Stories
October 17 | 7 PM to 8 PM | Thacher State Park - Hop Field Warming Hut
Join Thacher State Park for an eerie evening in the Hop Field Warming Hut with scary stories and cider. Professional Storytellers Mary Murphy and Claire Nolan bring these scary stories for ages 5 and up to life! Registration required.

Hounds of Halloween 2025
October 18 | 12 PM to 4 PM | Quackenbush Square and Clinton Market Collective
This dog trick-or-treat event is fun for the whole family! Litters of dressed-up dogs will roam the streets of downtown Albany sniffing out treats at a multitude of participating businesses. Dog costumes are a must, but human pals are encouraged to dress up too! New this year: Puppy Parade at Clinton Market Collective (11 Clinton Ave)! A portion of ticket proceeds are donated to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.

Haunted Tales from the Crow's Wood
October 18 | 6:30 PM to 8 PM | Crailo State Historic Site
An evening of haunted tales, spectres, and portents of doom around the campfire on the grounds of Crailo! Bring lawn chairs & dress for the outdoors. Younger children and those of the faint of heart are welcome to attend and paint pumpkins at a set aside station.

Erie Canal Boat Seneca Chief Bicentennial Voyage Visits Albany
October 19 | Welcome Ceremony begins at 11 AM | Jennings Landing
The Seneca Chief, a full-scale replica of the Erie Canal boat built by the Buffalo Maritime Center to celebrate the Erie Canal’s 200th anniversary, will dock at Jennings Landing in Albany! While in port, the handcrafted vessel will serve as a floating museum, offering visitors a chance to explore recreated cabins, artifacts, and exhibits highlighting the Erie Canal’s enduring impact on New York’s history and culture.

A Big Gay Market
