URBAN RAID OBSTACLE RACE RETURNS TO DOWNTOWN ALBANY THIS SATURDAY!
5K OBSTACLE COURSE TAKES RACERS PAST THE CAPITOL BUILDING, A LINCOLN PARK AND MORE BEFORE THE EPIC FINISH INSIDE THE TIMES UNION CENTER!
LOCATION: Starting and finishing inside the Times Union Center the 3.1 mile Urban RAID course will take racers past the Capitol, Lincoln Park and other Albany landmarks. Along the way runners will be asked to complete a series of 10-12 massive obstacles including a two-story high Cargo Climb, Marine Hurdles, Ropes and the signature RAID Series Wall. Post-race, a festival will be held right on the Times Union Center floor featuring music, a sponsor village, and the RAID Beer Garden!
THE RACE: Urban RAID Albany is open to men and women of all fitness levels over the age of 16 who desire a new challenge. In addition to open age divisions for both male and female racers, Urban RAID Albany also welcomes teams made up of a 3-10 racers. Online registration will be open through midnight on Thursday August 7th and interests racers may also register in person on Friday, August 8th from 4-8 p.m.at the Times Union Center or from 7:30-9:30 a.m. also at the Times Union Center.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: This year Urban RAID Albany will be filmed by Emmy Award winning production firm 360 Media Ventures for a dedicated television program featuring the entire 2014 RAID Series which will air on Universal Sports Network and Outside Television in the late fall 2014. In 2014 The RAID Series will hold races in Portland, Maine, Boston, Massachusetts, Albany, New York, Old Orchard Beach, Maine and conclude with the Urban RAID Championships in New York City on September 20th.
