TODAY, MAYOR SHEEHAN TO PRESENT PLANS FOR ALBANY'S 66th ANNUAL ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE

New Irish American Family Festival to be Included in the Day's Festivities


ALBANY, NY - At a press conference at Albany City Hall today, Wednesday, March 9, at 11:30 a.m. Mayor Kathy Sheehan, Police Chief Brendan Cox, and parade and business representatives will present plans for the Albany and North Albany St. Patrick's Day Parades scheduled for Saturday, March 12. The St. Patrick's Day Parade is one of the oldest traditions in Albany and is attended by thousands from the Capital Region.

City and parade officials will discuss the new Irish American Family Festival, being run by Albany's Irish Heritage Museum, which is being held in Academy Park on Saturday afternoon as well as parade routes, street closings, viewing areas, and the enforcement of open container laws.
