Start off your day in Revolutionary war general Philip Schuyler's shoes by taking a tour at his home, the Schuyler Mansion Historic Site. If you want to dig a little deeper into Philip's life, go from the mansion where he raised his eight children, to Crailo Historic Site, where he and his wife Catherine Van Rensselaer were married. If you're in need of a mid day pick-me-up, Nine Pin Ciderworks is the perfect stop! Since there was an orchard on Schuyler's 80 acres of land, he would have been sure to enjoy all the ciders Nine Pin has to offer. If you'd like to see the famous general up close and personal, there is no better place to go to than his statue outside of Albany City Hall. And finally, round out your day with a meal at the Olde English Pub in Quackenbush Square. Since the building was erected in the 1730s, it was around for a vast majority of the New York Senator's life! This itinerary is sure to give you a better idea of what Albany may have been like on the brink of the Revolution.
