Discover your own family adventure in Albany County by choosing a few or as many of these activities as you can fit into your trip!

Empire Skate Plaza Ice Rink

Soar across the City Center at the Empire State Plaza Ice Rink, open from early December to early March each year. Bring your own skates or rent a pair for $3 and slide across the ice in the shadow of The Egg!

While in The Plaza, take a trip up to the Corning Tower Observation Deck. Take in the beautiful view of The Catskills, the Adirondacks, The Berkshires, and some of Albany's favorites like The Governor's Mansion and The Empire State Plaza itself.

Continue your exploration of The Plaza by taking a walk into the New York State Museum. Visit one of Albany's oldest inhabitants, the Cohoes Mastodon, and learn about his chilly past and more. The New York State Museum's other notable collections are World Trade Center: Rescue Recovery Response, The Adirondack Wilderness, and Black Capital: Harlem in the 20s. And don't forget to ride the carousel on the 4th floor of the museum!

Now head downtown to the Times Union Center and cheer on the Albany Devils Hockey Team! These local games are the perfect chance for the whole family to learn about the sport and watch future stars play. Did you know that Albany is the top developmental team for the three-time Stanley Cup Champions New Jersey Devils of the NHL?
