The Albany Heritage Area Visitors center offers visitors access to information seven days a week. Our knowledgeable staff can answer visitor inquiries and we are well stocked with travel brochures about the capital region of New York State.
We also offer an informative exhibit about the history of the city of Albany, we are home to the Henry Hudson Planetarium, and our gift shop is full of unique Albany items and locally made products.
Print versions of self-guided walking tours are available year round. Special events, school programs, and an audio-visual orientation to the city are designed to provide an introduction to Albany's rich heritage and diverse culture. The Albany Heritage Area comprises all of downtown Albany and is one of 18 Heritage Areas and Corridors in New York State that preserve, interpret, and promote special places in the Empire State.
