New York State has implemented a system where individuals can sign up their e-mail address(es) to automatically receive emergency alert messages by selecting geographic areas of the state. This includes NYSDOT transportation system incidents. The Capital Region TMC enters these incidents into the NY-Alert system, so you can receive timely notifications for major incidents...

New York State has implemented a system where individuals can sign up their e-mail address(es) to automatically receive emergency alert messages by selecting geographic areas of the state.

This includes NYSDOT transportation system incidents. The Capital Region TMC enters these incidents into the NY-Alert system, so you can receive timely notifications for major incidents.

More information, and the on-line forms to sign-up can be found at: www.nyalert.gov/ Click on the "Sign Up for NY-Alerts" button on the left.

Also, the NY State Thruway has a similar program called TransAlerts: www.nysthruway.gov/tas/index.html Click on the "Sign up for TRANSalert e-mail" blue text in the middle of the screen.
