ALBANY’S PALACETHEATRE NAMES HOLLY BROWN
AS GENERAL MANAGER

September15, 2011, Albany, NY – Executive Director Kevin Carlon has announced the appointment of Holly Brown as General Manager of the historic Palace Theatre.  

“The Palace is so pleased to have Holly join our team. With over 20 years ofindustry experience, she is a great asset to our organization,” said Carlon.“She brings an energy and love for the arts and entertainment industry that will serve our community well.”

Prior to joining the Palace, Brown led a department of ten as Director of Marketing and Communications for Ruth Eckerd Hall, a 2,180-seat venue, the Capitol Theatre, a 400-seat historic theatre and the Hall’s Hoffman Institute for the Performing Arts in Clearwater, Florida. These entities present over 200 events per year combined, and the Hall has consistently ranked in thetop 10 theaters in the world for most tickets sold to concerts and events. In 2010, the Hall ranked as the number one venue of its size in North American for the most tickets sold to concerts and events. While at Ruth EckerdHall, Brown was an integral part of the team responsible for generating over $12 million annually in ticket sales and ancillary revenue, launched a new branding campaign for the organization, strategized and developed plans resulting in consistent increases in revenue in all areas, and assisted in programming selection and strategy.

Prior to joining the team at Ruth Eckerd Hall, Brown had a ten year career in marketing at the 22,000-seat St. Pete Times Forum, in Tampa, Florida as Senior Director of Event Marketing. There, she generated an average of $25 million annually in ticket sales and ancillary revenue. In addition to traditional show-related marketing and public relations responsibilities, Brown was also instrumental in the selection of shows and events, and worked to strategize food and beverage and ticket office initiatives. All of this achieved the St. Pete Times Forum’s international ranking of the 2nd highest Top Grossing Venue in the World and the national ranking of 1st in North America for Top Grossing Venues for five consecutive years.

Brown has a variety of marketing and public relations experiences in the performing arts that include A solo Theatre Festival, in Sarasota, Florida; AllAmerican Events, Inc. in Sarasota, Florida; Parson Advertising Agency in Stratford, Ontario and Tampa, Florida; the Orlando Shakespeare Festival and the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.  

Holly attended the University of South Florida, Tampa where she obtained aB.A., Mass Communications, Advertising and a Minor, Fine Arts.
