Local Color Art Gallery
The Local Color Art Gallery is a cooperative gallery sponsored by the Colonie Art League, Inc. The gallery represents more than thirty regional artists, from emerging to professional and award winning. The Local Color Art Gallery is the only cooperative gallery in the region managed entirely by member artists. All work offered is original art in a variety of media including watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, and sculpture. Styles range from representational to abstract. Both framed and portfolio works are available. Note cards created by member artists are also for sale. Exhibits change every three months allowing artists to display new works while offering guests a different experience with each visit to the gallery. Artists accept commissions for portraiture, commercial buildings, and residential homes.
Along with artwork, the gallery houses the Colonie Art League Member’s Library, a beautiful collection of over 200 books to borrow and 100 videos to rent. The Local Color Art Gallery offers monthly one-day workshops in Latham presented by Colonie Art League artists. The gallery also hosts an annual “ Art on the Lawn “ on the third Saturday in September open to members and non-members: and an Annual Holiday Show, artisan gift shop, and reception in December. The Colonie Art League established its Local Color Art Gallery in 2000. Colonie Art League is a not-for-profit organization whose objective is to enrich the cultural life of our region by increasing public awareness of original art. Visit us ! There is always a member artist at the gallery to greet and assist you. Open Wed. through Fri. 10am-6pm Sat. 10am-5pm Sun. 12pm-4pm |
