Come and cheer on all of the elite wrestlers representing their sections encompassing New York State, plus the New York City Public School Athletic League (PSAL) and Catholic High School Athletic Associations (CHSAA). The Times Union Center is home to the American Hockey League Albany Devils, and the Siena Saints Basketball team. In addition, the Times Union Center has hosted the NCAA National Championship in hockey (Frozen Four), the Eastern Regionals in basketball (Sweet Sixteen) as well as the MAAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships, the ECAC Hockey Championships and the Federation Basketball Tournament of Champions. Park-N-Ride Information to the Times Union Center On Friday, February 24th ONLY, this "express" bus service will originate at the Albany Port lot, 21 Broadway, Albany, NY 12202 based on number of riders from 9:00am until 6:00pm. Travel time from the lot to the Times Union Center is approximately 7 minutes depending on traffic. Everyone will be dropped off and picked up at the corner of Pearl and Market Streets (side of the Times Union Center). There will be a $4 charge (per person) to park and take the CDTA shuttle. EVEN THOUGH MATCHES RUN UNTIL 8PM, THE LOT WILL CLOSE AT 6:00PM.
A few blocks from the Times Union Center is the contemporary design of the Empire State Plaza , completed as a vision of Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller in 1978. The Plaza was built not only to serve as government offices, but as a center of arts, culture and community activity. The New York State Museum (the largest State Museum in the country), the Empire State Art Collection and the Empire State Performing Arts Center (known as The Egg for its unusual and distinctive design) are all contained at the Plaza. All of these venues are within walking distance of the Times Union Center. In addition, you will be able to visit the NYS Capitol as well as the Albany Institute of History & Art.Our rich 400 years of history compliments our contemporary destination. Approximately 20 minutes from downtown Albany is the Wolf Road area. You will find many options for shopping and dining, including over 40 restaurants and the Colonie Center Shopping Mall including L.L. Bean, P.F. Chang's, The Cheesecake Factory, Sephora and Regal Cinemas Stadium 13.
