On behalf of the Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau, we are delighted to welcome the New York State Council of Educational Associations to New York State's historical Capital City.

We are certain your conference experience will be productive and personally rewarding, but will also provide you with an opportunity to discover all that Albany has to offer. From shopping to dining, to arts and entertainment opportunities, and countless cultural cuisine venues, Albany has it all for you to take in!

Just above the scenic Hudson River Valley, The Century House offers the facilities, features and services that meet the standards of the present, blended with the gracious charm and history of the past. The hotel is a full service, boutique Latham hotel just a few minutes from downtown Albany, the Albany International Airport, the Amtrak Station, and the Saratoga County border. Spoil yourself as you enjoy Fine Dining in our Award-Winning Historic Restaurant, serving New American Cuisine, set in a charming upstate New York atmosphere. The Century House Hotel embraces the historical significance of the Capital Region, reflected in New England architectural elements, and Federal style interior design. The Century House embodies and honors its origins, by maintaining the highest expectations for comfort and care, treating all our guests like family. To make your hotel reservations, please call 518-785-0931 and ask for the room block "Schools Association of New York State."

We encourage you to bring your spouse or significant other to this conference. You can come early and stay late and take advantage of all that Albany and the surrounding regions have to offer. From the Hudson Valley Wineries to the Cohoes Falls, north to Saratoga, all the way to the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, there is something for everyone. Its convenient location in Latham is just minutes from the Wolf Road area. You will find many options for shopping and dining, including over 40 restaurants and Colonie Center Shopping Mall including L.L. Bean , P.F. Chang's, The Cheesecake Factory, Sephora, Christmas Tree Shop and Regal Cinemas Stadium 13.

Approximately 20 minutes from the Century House is the contemporary design of the Empire State Plaza, completed as a vision of Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller in 1978. The Plaza was built not only to serve as government offices, but as a center of arts, culture and community activity. The New York State Museum (the largest State Museum in the country), the Empire State Art Collection and the Empire State Performing Arts Center (known as The Egg for its unusual and distinctive design) are all contained at the Plaza. In addition, you will be able to visit the NYS Capitol as well as the Albany Institute of History & Art.

Listed below are several useful links that will provide you with additional information regarding services, shopping and dining in the Capital District. If there is anything we can do prior to your visit or while you are here, please do not hesitate to contact Debby Goedeke, Convention Services Manager at 1-800-258-3582 x 100.
