Spouse's Tour, Tuesday, February 7, 2012
We have a great event planned on this day….private transportation will pick us up at the Albany Marriott and deliver us to the doorstep of the Norman Rockwell Museum located in historic Stockbridge, Massachusetts.  The Museum holds the largest and most significant collection of original Rockwell art. Highlights include enduring favorites from Rockwell’s Saturday Evening Post covers and the powerful Four Freedoms paintings.  In addition, you will definitely want to browse in the Museum's gift shop for those one-of-a-kind items.  All of the purchases help support the Rockwell legacy.  From the Museum we will be whisked off to the Red Lion Inn where we will enjoy a delicious lunch.  Since welcoming its first guests more than two centuries ago, the Red Lion Inn has developed a reputation for outstanding food and genuine New England hospitality. Those traditions are continued today by Executive Chef Brian J. Alberg, whose kitchen features contemporary cuisine that is rooted in the region's history.  Wait, that is not all, we will end our day at the infamous Lee Premium Outlets.  There are 60 stores that will offer impressive savings such as Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, BCBG Max Azria, Brooks Brothers, Coach, Cole Haan, Gap Outlet, J.Crew, Lacoste, Michael Kors, Nike, Polo Ralph Lauren, Talbots and more.

The Albany Marriott is centrally located. You will find many options for shopping and dining in close proximity, including over 40 restaurants and Colonie Center Shopping Mall which features L.L. Bean, P.F. Chang's, The Cheesecake Factory, Sephora, Christmas Tree Shop and Regal Cinemas Stadium 13.

Located at Wolf Road Shopper's Park is everyone's favorite clothing store, Talbots (outlet store) click here to learn more.

Please click here for information on transportation along Wolf Road.

Approximately 20 minutes from Wolf Road is the contemporary design of the Empire State Plaza, completed as a vision of Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller in 1978.  The Plaza was built not only to serve as government offices, but as a center of arts, culture and community activity. The New York State Museum (the largest State Museum in the country), the Empire State Art Collection and the Empire State Performing Arts Center (known as The Egg for its unusual and distinctive design) are all contained at the Plaza.  In addition, you will be able to visit the NYS Capitol as well as the Albany Institute of History & Art.

Listed below are several useful links that will provide you with additional information regarding services, shopping and dining in the Capital District.  If there is anything we can do prior to your visit or while you are here, please do not hesitate to contact Debby Goedeke, Convention Services Manager at 1-800-258-3582 x 100.  Please enjoy your stay and come back soon.
