Albany Hospitality Community Hosts 2nd Annual Taxi Luncheon Day
Over 75 lunches and gift bags distributed to local taxi drivers
ALBANY, NY – The Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with their partner hotels throughout Albany County, distributed 75 free box lunches and gift bags to local taxi drivers today.
The purpose of the luncheon was for the hotels to show appreciation to the taxi drivers for their work in making a positive first impression upon visitors to Albany.
Lunches were distributed to drivers who came to any of the three locations throughout Albany, including the Desmond Hotel, Holiday Inn Express - Albany University Area, and 74 State. Gift bags, which included air fresheners, coupons and various brochures, were also distributed with the lunches.
“Providing a complimentary lunch and gift bag is a simple way for the hotels to show our appreciation to our local taxi drivers and help make their day a little brighter,” stated Catherine Stevens, General Manager of the Albany Marriott Hotel. “In turn, we hope the drivers share that hospitality with their customers and help make Albany a more welcoming destination for visitors.”
This is the second year the Albany hospitality community has hosted this event. Future plans include developing a new website and initiative to increase communication and collaboration among the taxi companies and the hospitality community.
