2012 Tulip Queen Finalists Announced
TODAY! Wednesday, April 25 at 11am

Albany, New York - Mayor Jerry Jennings and TulipFestival Chair Marcus Pryor will introduce the five finalists for 2012 TulipQueen at a press conference in Albany City Hall's Corning Park (behind CityHall) today at 11:00 am.
The five finalists were chosen through an extensive interviewprocess out of about 100 nominations. Nominees were interviewed by the TulipQueen & Court Selection Committee, a panel of judges from the communityincluding prior Tulip Queen & Court members. These young women were chosenbased on their community service and leadership skills as well as theirknowledge of Albany.
The Queen will be crowned at the Tulip Festival on Saturday,May 12 at noon on the Lakehouse Amphitheater Stage in Washington Park.
The Tulip Queen & Court spend their year of reigninvolved with many community education initiatives and coordinate programs eachyear for the Mayor Jerry Jennings Literacy campaign.
