"Beverwijck Boos": City Streets Come Alive at Night

Halloween Events for the Whole Family to Enjoy

Albany, NY - Halloween candy has already hit your favorite retailer's shelves, so it must be okay to talk about all the upcoming Capital Region Halloween happenings.

What do a love triangle, a massive bank account, and a flintlock have in common? Murder at Cherry Hill of course! A tragedy one hundred and ninety years in the making, relive the drama of the marriage turned deadly and the trial that shocked the city October 27th and 28th at Historic Cherry Hill. Registration is required.

The Shakers typically did not celebrate secular holidays like Halloween. But in fact, they were, some of America's earliest Spiritualists, attending séances, communicating with the dead through visions, and inviting mediums into their communities. Join Gary Robusto, founder of the Tri-City Paranormal Society, at the Eden Café on September 17th for Shaker Spiritualists: Seances, Mediums, and Spirits at America's First Shaker Settlement. Explore Shaker beliefs about death, dying, the afterlife as well as recent modern spiritual activity at the museum.

Full of a rich European stylistic tradition, the New York State Capitol Building is not without its secrets. Unexplainable phenomena has been observed within its very walls for years, and there are more unanswered questions and theories than concrete answers to explain them. Brave souls and ghost hunters alike, traverse the "hot spots" of the Capitol through "Capitol Hauntings" Tours weekdays throughout October. Prepare for immersion in chilling tales of "after-hour" presidential visits and hidden murals.

Other notable events include the Albany Hilton's Ghosts of Albany Walking Tour, the New York State Museum's trick-and-treat filled Halloween Spooktacular, the Palace Performing Arts Center's Groovin"...Ghostly Legends & Friends concert, the Albany Capital Center's BOO-jolais Vampire Ball, 100.9FM The CAT's Halloween BOO Cruise, courtesy of Dutch Apple Cruises, and our very own Haunted History Walking Tour, to learn more about the ghost of Legs Diamond.
