The Sports Foundation of the Greater Capital Region is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote New York's Capital Region through sports. Its goals are to improve the quality of life and enhance economic development throughout the region by maintaining and acquiring diversity of amateur sporting events and by creating other special events.
From Little League to NCAA National Championships, we have our fingers on the pulse of everything your tournament needs to shine. In the past we have hosted large number of well-known sporting events. For a full list, go to our Sporting Tournaments page.
Many favorite moments and events occurred in Albany's arenas and sporting venues including Siena's mesmerizing run to the Sweet Sixteen and Syracuse's regional win that would eventually lead to their first NCAA basketball title. Albany has also played host to a large number of youth and club tournaments which all together create our championship pedigree that can stand on its own against the toughest of competition.
